Acceptable Use Policy
Effective 2026-10-07 · Last updated 2026-10-07
This Acceptable Use Policy applies to everyone who uses OpenReserve, including businesses, their staff and their clients. It forms part of our Terms of Service. Businesses are responsible for how their staff use the Service.
In plain English: Don't break the law, don't hurt or deceive people, don't spam, and don't attack or scrape the Service.
1. Illegal, harmful or deceptive activity
You may not use the Service to:
- Break any law or regulation that applies to you, or offer services you are not licensed or permitted to provide.
- Defraud, deceive or mislead people, including through false prices, fake bookings or fake reviews.
- Harass, threaten, bully, defame or incite violence against anyone, or discriminate unlawfully against anyone.
- Impersonate another person, business or organization, or misrepresent your connection to one.
- Publish anyone's private information without their consent.
- Run a business that the law does not allow, or one on Stripe's list of prohibited and restricted businesses.
- Offer age-restricted services without checking age as the law requires.
2. Content
Content you post, including photos, descriptions, messages and reviews, must not:
- Contain sexual content involving minors. We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), as 18 U.S.C. § 2258A requires, and close the account.
- Be sexually explicit or show nudity in any public place, such as a public profile, page or gallery. Work photos (for example of tattoos) must be suitable for a general audience.
- Promote violence, hatred, terrorism, self-harm or illegal drugs.
- Infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity rights.
- Contain malware or links to it.
You can report content or behavior that breaks these rules from the app (where the content is shown) or by emailing hello@openreserve.app. We review reports promptly and may remove content, hide it while we review it, or limit who sees it.
3. Messages and spam
- Do not send messages people did not ask for. Email sent through the Service must go only to people who agreed to receive them, and must be about the purpose they agreed to.
- Do not use purchased, rented or scraped contact lists.
- Do not use the Service to send chain letters, pyramid schemes or phishing.
4. Security and integrity of the Service
You may not:
- Access, or try to access, accounts or data that are not yours, or get around the separation between businesses.
- Probe, scan or test the security of the Service, except as described in our responsible disclosure policy.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the Service, except as the law expressly allows.
- Scrape or copy data from the Service by automated means, or resell access to it, without our written permission.
- Use bots or automation in a way that places an unreasonable load on the Service, or evade rate limits, suspensions or bans.
- Interfere with the Service's security, moderation or abuse-prevention features.
5. Sensitive information
- Do not enter card numbers, bank account numbers, government ID numbers or passwords into notes, messages or other free-text fields.
- Do not use the Service to make decisions about someone's eligibility for credit, employment, insurance, housing or healthcare.
6. Enforcement
If you break this policy, we may remove content, suspend features, suspend or close your account, and report illegal activity to the authorities. Where practical and lawful, we will tell you what we did and why, and you can appeal by emailing hello@openreserve.app.
